The Defence Family Helpline is the first point of call (for
serving Permanent & Reserve personnel and their families) for
support, information and connection with their community, including
their local Defence Community Organisation team. The Helpline is
available 24-7 and is staffed by qualified human services
professionals including social workers and psychologists.
National Welfare Coordination Centre (NWCC) -

NWCC is a welfare support service for the families of
serving Permanent and Reserve personnel. It provides a free call
24/7 information and referral service for families of deployed
Defence personnel, timely and accurate information and reassurance,
support and referral to other family support agencies. Its operators
can assist callers with all hours referral to support agencies,
passing urgent information to deployed personnel, mailing addresses
and postal regulations for overseas deployments and a friendly voice
at any time.

Open Arms provides free and confidential, nation-wide counselling
and support for war and service-related mental health conditions,
such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression,
sleep disturbance and anger. Support is also available for
relationship and family matters that can arise due to the unique
nature of the military lifestyle.

provide all-hours support and appropriate referral to serving
Permanent & Reserve personnel and their families. To access Defence
