I wish to convey to the very patient purchasers of our 100th Anniversary embroidered garments, our sincere apologies Thank you for waiting so long for delivery. The sheer numbers which is now nearly 2000 garments, took us totally by surprise (please go to our web site for details). The best year we have had in the past, was 75 garments. We have in concert with the embroiderer, worked out a system of embroidering which will cut out such backlogs in the future and will start Feb 2012. Details will placed on our web site soon. We are trying to clear the backlog ASAP. All other Anniversary rabbits are available off the shelf, for immediate delivery. If you are thinking of purchasing any of them, please do so ASAP, as once gone they will not be reproduced.

The latest issue of ‘Flightpath’ magazine, on display at newsagents now, includes an article on the piston-era history of the RAN fleet-air-arm. Coverage includes its beginnings during WW1 when Sopwith Camel 2F1 aircraft were launched from HMAS Sydney and Melbourne to attack German aircraft. Further coverage details the RAN’s first aircraft carrier HMAS Albatross, the Supermarine Seagull and Walrus aircraft and their contribution to RAN aviation, through to the post WW11 period with the dedicated aircraft carriers HMAS Sydney and Vengeance and their Hawker Sea Fury and Fairey Firefly aircraft. The article is supported by some remarkable historic photographs. This feature article will appeal to ex-FAA people and students of naval aviation. The same issue also has excellent coverage of the famous RN Supermarine Seafire – the Spitfire that went to sea.
